More From the Garden

The front walk with some spring color.  I always want more and more flowers blooming, but there’s something so restful about the green.  The barberry in the foreground provides color all season as the blooms beyond it change.

Here’s that pink evergreen azalea up close, just coming into bloom.  It’s one of my favorites.

I planted this chain tree as a tiny seedling.

Can’t help it, I have a passion for green.  This mingling dead nettle and sweet woodruff make a lush carpet in shady spots.  The dead nettle blooms yellow and the sweet woodruff sprinkles the carpet with white.

Just wanted to finish up with some color – verbena and geranium in one of my deck pots.

Have a beautiful day!

  1. Gorgeous photos again, your garden's like a rainbow Leslie. It must be a great place to relax with your family. All your hard work is paying off.
My rhododendron has only started blooming in the past week, lots of buds still to open, but I've only one cluster of gorgeous pink flowers open on it so far. Yours is beautifully full of blooms, I love the rich colour too. Our Lilac tree planted in memory of our lovely labrador we lost in 2005, is very heavy with flowers, and smells heavenly.

The colours are so fresh, so vibrant, so Spring like. Like your cards, the planning is immaculate. I can almost breathe in the freshness. There's nothing like it. Thanks for sharing.

I have a lilac azalea coming into flower now and hopefully will continue till the sprink, if our winter is not too severe. This one really seems to love the cooler weather as it has done that before.
Have a great weekend, with your pups.

  13. Oh my goodness! Leslie, it must smell heavenly to stand in the midst of all that beauty! Stand, heck, give me a bench in the center of your garden with a book and a cool drink and I'd never leave. *sigh*

  14. Leslie, your flower beds and flower pots are gorgeous. We did our landscaping 3 years ago, and they say every year it gets better - and it sure does. I love sitting on our back porch admiring the growth of the plants, as they flower and the birds feeding off the feeders - it's so relaxing and calming. Thanks for sharing your garden. Enjoy your weekend.

  21. So beautiful to look at in photos, but no comparison with experiencing the garden in person, right Leslie? I've grown more appreciative of foliage over the years. I now pay special attention to that when selecting new plants. Linda
