Feeling Better

LuLu’s feeling better.  Can you tell?  That’s her attacking Wally.

There’s only so much roughhousing allowed until her foot heals a bit more, though.

FriendsAug2013

These photos were all taken on Wednesday, a week and a day after LuLu cut her paw pad.  Once the healing got underway it progressed nicely.  She had some help with that.  One evening I was sitting on the couch and the dogs were on the floor just the other side of the ottoman where I didn’t have a full view of them.  They became awfully quiet and, just like little kids, that sometimes means they’re doing something they think they shouldn’t be doing, like pulling the stuffing out of a toy.  In fact, it’s okay to pull the stuffing out of a toy, but they still get a guilty pleasure from it.  I peeked over the ottoman and there was Wally licking LuLu’s wounded paw over and over again while LuLu sat with the sweetest little happy face.  I wished I’d had my camera.  Later he nuzzled her paw and laid his face against it.  They are truly the best of friends.

Thank you so much for all your concern and well wishes.  You are sincerely appreciated.  Have a beautiful weekend!

  4. Oh Leslie, what a heartwarming story. I'm so glad you shared. Your fur-babies are beautiful (as is your lush and glorious garden), and your photos are fantastic! What a relief to know Lulu is being ministered to by "everyone". Such love and devotion. You made the best choice the day you decided to welcome Lulu into your home and give Rusty a "sibling".

  6. LOL! Lulu really does look fierce in that photo, but I know they're only playing at it. My little boy twins Casper and Corey do that all the time. Sometimes I have to chide them for playing to rough. But they do love each other also and like Wally will groom the other. So glad that they can get back to playing together and that Lulu's paw is about healed up. I know they'll want a romp through the waters pretty soon.

  9. This was a perfect way to start my day. I'm so glad Lulu is healing nicely. No doubt because she has all that love directed at her! Wally is the perfect big brother taking care of his little sis! Our fur babies know more about healing each other (and us) than we give them credit for!

And, are those hydrangeas in the background? What a magnificent color!

  22. As always, photos of Wally and Lulu bring a smile to my face. I am so happy to see and hear that she is doing better. She looks like she's full of P & V... (something my Dad used to say). She's a sweetie, and Wally is such a good boy for taking care of her so well. Of course, you and Rich get recognized for that too! Just sayin'! Thanks for the update... Hugs to you all!
