Mug Shots

Hello!  Long time no blog post, but thought I would share today a couple of Shutterfly projects I recently completed.  I made a Wally coffee mug for Rich a couple of years ago (pre-LuLu) and have always meant to make a LuLu mug, as well.    Each mug has two puppy photos and one adult photo.

I never seemed to have just the right adult photo of LuLu until last month.  I was looking for a fall photo which would coordinate nicely with the puppy photos.  I would have liked more autumn leaves in her photo, but this one works okay, I think.

Also, Wally and LuLu finally have their own calendar.  Here’s Mr. November:

The calendar turned out beautifully with its 12 x 12 photos and color coordinated pages.  Throughout 2013 we had a Golden Retriever calendar on our wall and I kept thinking that should be Wally and LuLu up there.  Well, next year it will be.

I also made a 48 page 12 x 12 photo book with the year’s favorite pictures, most of which you’ve seen here on the blog.  I’ll make this an annual project.

By now I’m sure I’ve removed all doubt as to how completely over-the-top nuts we are about Wally and LuLu.  Then again, I probably did that a long time ago.

I’ve started a file on my computer with possible candidates for next year’s book or calendar.  When the time comes I’ll sort through them and only take the best of the best.  The enlarged printed photos do look much better than I anticipated.

Gosh, I’ll try to not let a whole month go by before my next post.  Our kids grow up so fast, don’t they?  Have a beautiful day!

  7. Oh my goodness Leslie I don't know where to begin. I've always thought your photography skills are excellent and this post reaffirms my thoughts. The mug, calendar, and prints are just beautiful. You'll always be glad you've created these memory pieces. You're right, they do grow up fast - to fast <3

  8. I must fall into the over-the-top category right along with you! I think all of your projects are exactly what "normal" people would do! It's the people who have fur babies who DON'T go overboard that are crazy! And how can you not love them when they are this beautiful & sweet? My daughter has made 3 scrapbook albums for Brady starting when he was a tiny kitten. I treasure them! It's so fun to look back at how little he was (before he got to be 20 lbs) and I know I will always get joy from them. They are family! And with photography skills as marvelous as yours, these are extra special!

  15. They look so young on the cups, it makes me smile. They are beautiful Leslie. The calendar is a great idea. You seem to be able to capture their thoughts and facial expressions a lot, which I can never seem to do on camera. Wonderful gift to you and Rich. hee hee Hugs today my friend.

  20. You are too cute! I was grinning from ear to ear looking at the items in this post, Leslie. Your love for Wally and LuLu has always been so apparent, but now it's confirmed! My brother and his wife (and her sister and her sister's husband) are bona fide nuts over my brother's dog-baby. Both households feature Shutterfly-type items all over of the dog. They even had a pillow made, stuffed with the dog's fur! So....you're not alone. ;)
