Photo Shoot Rejects

I recently asked Rich to take some pictures of me with Wally and LuLu.  I knew we’d have to shoot a lot of photos to get one good one out of the bunch, but 99 photos later. . . really???

Okay, in the first one I’m grimacing and I’ve got the dogs in a headlock, and who is this chubby-cheeked old lady, anyway?

Now you can see why I had them in a headlock.  A little too much love going on here.

Rich liked this next one, and it would be pretty cute except my mouth is screwed up and my eyes are nearly closed.  I know I’m not photogenic, but, do I really look like that?  Seriously??

This last one is my favorite, but where’s Wally?  Oh, and, by the way, I guess Rich doesn’t believe in zoom so these were all big scenic pictures with me and the dogs as tiny, distant subjects.  I had to crop them down to bring us into closer view, which made the photos very small.

Since I’m always the one behind the camera, I very seldom have my picture taken anymore, but for the photo books and posterity it needs to be recorded that I was actually a part of our lives.  I guess more photo shoots are in order.  Take care, and enjoy your day!

  3. Well,Leslie, this post proves that dogs are even harder to photograph than children. The last is my favorite too, with the second one coming in a close second. Who doesn't love a little puppy love!

  7. They are all great pictures, Leslie! I'm so glad we got to see them. What a great idea to make sure you have pictures of you with Wally and Lulu, too.

  8. These photos made me smile. The last one is a very good of you two beautiful girls, I still think the others are great too, typically natural shots, complete with "puppy kisses". Retrievers don't sit still for very long usually, mine have the odd calm moments, apart from times when they're asleep so I'm not very good getting a good shot, good job my DH is much better with the camera. I'm always impressed with your doggy photos Leslie. Now we know Rich takes good photos too. Thanks for sharing.

  9. I have really enjoyed seeing pictures of you and "the kids" and I think you look beautiful in all of them. I am sure you will get the shot that you like if you keep trying long enough. I had the same problem with my one furry kid when trying to get a picture for an article I was writing about rescues. If I looked good the dog didn't and if the dog looked good I didn't. I could never decide which one of us was important to look good! LOL

  11. Leslie, how can you say that these photos are not the BEST? You are one beautiful lady, and your kids are beautiful as well. The love that you, Rich and Wally and Lulu share...well, it shows in every single photo you share with us, from painting the house, to planting the garden, to spraying the kids with the hose. You have a beautiful family! And YOU my friend, look just great! :-)

  12. OH, I wish I could have seen that photo shoot....I'll bet it was quite a day, but I must say, you are lovely in every one of those pictures, Leslie! :)

  13. Hi, Leslie! How fun! I thought all your photos came out great - I, too, have scarcely any photos, and it appears no one enjoys catching me in flattering times, but rather, they seem to enjoy catching me at embarrassing moments. I think you're beautiful - you're way too hard on yourself - such beautiful hair and creamy skin! And a lovely smile with eyes that contain love. Puppies are like that... what can I say? LOL thank you for sharing - hugs, de

  15. Each on is better than the next...in my humble opinion.... You look so happy with your babies and getting the best doggy kisses ever... we all seam to be the same way about taking all the pics and no one catching us in beautiful lights... why is that I wonder... Can't wait to see more of you!!!!

  16. What darling photos. I am not very photogenic either...I feel your pain. My father always took horrible pics of me with my mouth open or something like that. My poor hubby isn't much better at photos either. :)

  17. Ha ha, I just had to laugh that is what it is like around here, I take all the pics so there are hardly any of me around, I keep telling Greg I need an update shot for my blog but all the pictures taken of me doesn't look like what I see when I look in the mirror :) I think they are all good shots, and glad you have some of you too now!

  18. I agree with you - I always take the pictures as Joe cuts off the heads, etc.! But sometimes its nice to have the photographer in the picture! Looks like you and your friends are having way too much fun! Great pictures!

  19. Let's try this again. I lost my first comment somehow. Anyway I think it would be difficult to get photos of you and your energetic dogs. They are so cute though and love you very much. I've tried to do pictures of myself and some of our cats using the timer but they never cooperate and I've about given up on that idea. I did like your last shot with Lulu very much.

  20. Of course, Wally and Lulu wouldn't be able to stand still very well.....they want to give you lots of cuddles and kisses. Believe it or not, these are fabulous photos.

  21. So nice to see you, the photographer, in pics for a change! I am the photographer in my house, too, and I'm in very few of them. I try to occasionally have photos taken of me, so the kids have them for the future.

  22. They were giving you kisses like Ranger was with me. How cute! I like each of these Leslie. They love you that is very obvious! :-)

  23. We are all way too hard on ourselves...I'd be doing the same thing but you are beautiful, stunning despite what look is on your face...I think the last one is the best because it feels like I'm taking the pic and you are there being your beautiful self with a sweet smile on your face. :)
