So Much Prettier When it Snows

Monday and Tuesday mornings we woke up to find it snowing.  First thing, I took this photo through my craft room window:

When the snowfall stopped, I headed outside.

Just a few things that caught my eye...

It wasn't a lot of snow and it melted off by the afternoon each day, but pretty while it lasted.  As I write this it sounds like there's a possibility we could get snow again.  North of us they're hunkering down for a severe winter cold front.  Amazing the difference a few miles makes.

Hope you're staying safe and comfortable wherever you are.  Enjoy your day!

  1. I've been reading about some snow in areas there that don't normally get snow and this morning I thought of you and wondered if Wally and Lulu liked snow. Snow can be such a quiet beauty and you have captured that beauty this morning. Thanks for posting ... now I can move on and quit wondering about you guys. Stay warm and safe my friend!

  3. Snow is beautiful unlesss it comes with below zero wind chills like we have had all week! Wind chill yesterday was in the 20-30 below zero range all day! Brutal day to be out celebrating and shopping!

  4. Oh so pretty! You have captured some beautiful pictures Leslie, I love the last one with the berries. I love a soft and fluffy snowfall when it just lays so softly on everything. I hope the cold front doesn't reach you. Stay warm & safe. All our snow is gone with the mild few days last week and all the rain, now our county has issued state of emergency due to the high river overflowing it's banks. The mild weather has turned cold again (-19C or -2F) this morning, only good thing is the sun is coming up!
Thanks for sharing today, I always love seeing what you shoot!

  5. So pretty and I love looking at it from the warmth of my home in HTown. It's cold again here today and there was sleet yesterday a little north of my house. Then up to 68 tomorrow. Our crazy weather.

  6. So you got some snow too, I bet the puppies loved it. Ranger always liked the snow. Yes we are getting dumped on. School and work for us both was cancelled Thur and Fri. From the looks of it I think next week will be close to the same. The picture with the berries and the leaves with snow is my favorite. Very cool and great pictures Leslie. Stay warm and enjoy stamping. ;-) I plan to after we watch a movie. hee hee

At the moment, our snow has ALL melted ... now there's an ice rink around my 100 year old apple tree ... think when it comes, we're going to have a VERY WET Spring this year. Big Hugs and Happy Weekend!

  11. The falling snow was so pretty, but always happy when it is totally melted and we can see green again. We ended up with about 3" up the river. Can't believe we might have more snow over the weekend. That might be a 1st to have snow days so close together.

Stay warm and dry, Leslie. Hugs..Nancy

  14. You had snow at the beginning of the week?? Wow! (I LOVE snow photography...if the sky is clear. When it's overcast and gray, I don't do very well. I know I should be using a gray card, but I just haven't done it.)

  19. Beautiful pictures and so different from here as we have NO color but dead brown and white snow LOL...so it was fun to see all the color with snow, I sure hope it doesn't damage any of your plants...should be a good plant year here if they survived the extreme cold we had 23 below with 48 below wind chill, poor Mack and I nearly froze to death!

  20. It looks like a fantasy garden, doesn't it, Leslie? Thank you for capturing the beauty of the fluffy layers of the cold stuff - Snowing in Southern California, and record highs in Florida. What's with that? How did Wally and Lulu react to the snow? I imagine they loved it. Thanks for sharing your magnificent photos, Leslie! hugs, de
