Oh, my word, the sun came out and it made us all very happy!
Our spring lawn is so lush Rich can hardly keep up with the mowing. Wally and LuLu enjoyed a romp with Wally's pillow:
There was also the business of helping Rich trim the ferns:
Back to the pillow... oh, that joyous face!
Naturally, I had to add some color with my earliest blooming azalea and violets.
A female Acuba in the back yard shows plump red berries and speckled foliage:
Wally does know the proper way to handle a pillow. Just taking a little rest:
Before the day was over he'd carried both his blankets outside, too. Routine stuff. He's very fond of his blankets and pillow.
A little bit of sunshine sure can lift your spirits. I'm so looking forward to more! Have a happy day!
You just made my whole day! I adore seeing pictures of "our" fur babies! Especially happy ones! And they certainly looked happy! A bit of sunshine always makes everything better! It's supposed to be 80 here today! And again tomorrow too! I'm more than ready for sunshine again!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to start my day Leslie, with your beautiful photos of your babies, garden and all the glorious sunshine! It's still raining today, so dark and gloomy and cold (feels like 32F brr). Sunshine just makes you in such a more 'happy' place as I can see that in the pictures of Wally & Lulu. Your azalea is stunning, the vibrant pink - oh so pretty, as those little violets as well. I've never heard of an Acuba before, love the speckled greenery with the red berries! Thanks for sharing these today, I hope the sun continues your way. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThis certainly was a pleasure to see first thing this morning with my cup of coffee...made me chuckle right off!! What a character Wally is (LuLu too)!! I always love to see not only the antics the 'pups' are up to, but your beautiful plants as well as you are always ahead of us there! We have had some sunshine (rain too) and I have been able to work outside a bit here and there...good for the soul!! We lost one of our beloved kitty's yesterday to bladder cancer, so getting up this morning to see a 'ray of sunshine' on your blog was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way of enjoying the sunshine, Leslie! Wally and Lulu certainly know how to have a good time, and get everyone else to enjoy their antics as well! I admire that they can play with their blankets and pillows without wantonly destroying them! Too cute! Your ruffled azaleas are gorgeous! Are they dwarf? Ours are not only long gone, but I've already pruned them back so that they won't be so leggy, or require as much water this summer. They tend to wilt during summer afternoons, even with our daily thunderstorms. A "cold front" is moving in today and we are not expected to get out of the 60s for our highs. PERFECT WEATHER as the humidity has been driven further south. Your violets are sweet and delicate! Love the tiny purple petals bursting through the bold magenta of your azaleas! We have been harvesting from the vegetable garden - green beans, cucumbers, bell peppers and banana sweet peppers for the past week. Jack just brought in more - so I'll make something for lunch and dinner using them. They smell so amazing just washing them, let alone eating them! YUM! We're experimenting with tomatoes this year, trying some new techniques and keeping the squirrels away from them. The squirrels always get them before we do, and we dislike bringing them indoors to ripen. Hoping you all enjoy a Woofing great Easter! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteThe azaleas are looking beautiful. Such fun to watch Wally and Lulu romp around the yard. I finally got most of my spring planting done this past week thanks to my new lawn guy. I had to get things ready for the Monarchs. I've already had three emerge from their chrysalis, and a new and larger hutch for them.
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS enjoy hearing about the adventures of Wally & LuLu ... (Rich & Leslie too! lol) Your grass & plantings look BEAUTIFUL and like the others, it's warmed my soul to read your post! It is so wonderful to smell/see Spring come into bloom and certainly does help lift the spirits! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your day ... always makes my day! BIG HUGS and HAPPY EASTER WISHES to you & yours!
ReplyDeleteI love how the sunshine gives us all (including pets) so much playful energy. TFS Wally's fun day in the sun with his precious treasures:-) Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteI agree with the sun making everything happy... Love the flowers. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteWally and Lulu look as though they are having so much fun, they really do have a Spring in their step. I can tell by the tails :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see how the dogs are enjoying the day. Great photos and love the garden ones as well.
ReplyDeleteOh Leslie, so happy you had some sunshine, we all need it, badly.
ReplyDeleteUp here the sun is out too, the wind is a bit strong making the temperatures a little chilly but non the less, it's beautiful and sunny and we love it too.
Finished picking up broken branches and the seed pods from the trees in front, the service that comes to pick up all of this stuff is making it's round so we better get all of it to the curve.
Love to see your furry babies frolicking around, loving the sunshine too.
Your azaleas look amazing, that is my favorite color, so fresh and beautiful.
Thank you for sharing these fabulous pictures of Wally and Lulu and, of course Rich, working to keep that garden so beautiful.
Sending hugs to you all.
XO
Maria.
So happy to see you had sunshine. It seem to be raining here every other day! Today we are back to winter temps with more rain and wind. Brr...makes me want a blanket too! Wally is so cute with his pillow. He has my heart for sure. If we lived closer he would have to come for a sleep over with us. Oh Lulu too of course.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pics and love the beautiful azaleas-we have had two beautiful sunny days here too!

Oh I so do agree that sunshine can sure lift the spirits, and I try to soak everyone of them up :) So nice to have the house aired out now too! I love his blanket and pillow coming out, Peanut always use to love laying on hers and soaking up the sun too :) Your lawn is looking like ours, Greg feels like he can never keep up with all the mowing, and you always here the hum of a mower somewhere close by, Ahhh spring!
