Feeling Lucky to Live Here

Like many states, Oregon is on a stay-at-home order, which means the same thing here as it does in other states, I'm sure.  All our state and county parks are closed because too many people proved they didn't know how to NOT congregate in unsafe numbers.  Tourists flocked to our chilly beaches until, weirdly, we looked like spring break in Florida.

So now everything is shut down... however, local folk who enjoy the outdoors still know where to go.  It was a beautiful day for a walk in the woods.

All this space and not a soul in sight.

Hurry up, Mom!

Off we go.

Everything is different for the time being, but all our days and moments are precious, aren't they?  I'm glad to be with my family, even though I'm pretty sure we won't see our son for Easter or his birthday next month.  We do what we have to do.  It's temporary.  Thank goodness for The Great Outdoors.

  2. Leslie, you are very lucky to have places you can escape to with no one else around. Looks like a wonderful area for a stroll. The Great Outdoors, is such an awesome place to be. Yes everything is so different, miss my son and his family, but good thing for technology! Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy, stay safe!

  3. What a beautiful place to walk in and enjoy the outdoors with Wally and Lulu and best yet, no one else around, it looks so peaceful and relaxing! We live rural on nine acres with some woods and I feel very lucky too as we can get out when the weather is good, in fact I was out Wednesday able to work in my gardens, and they gave me quite a surprise...poison ivy..yay..NOT! We are to have severe weather this evening so now I can add that to my worries...life is kind of a struggle for us all lately isn't it? Take care!!

  4. So beautiful. Nice to have your own little piece of safety and security. Praying that this will pass sooner than later. I've been able to do a little bit of work outside in my gardens and my Monarch butterfly caterpillars are keeping me very busy finding milkweed for them.

  5. Thank you for sharing your beautiful surroundings and walk. We are actually lucky to be living out in the forest like foothills of Colorado. So I understand how you feel. We can still get very close to nature while being at home.

  6. We are on lockdown too and places close for exactly the same reason!!!The worst is not seing our grandaughters for over two weeks as parents are seperated and relations still frosty -girls are back with their Mum and we can't even talk to them over the phone-we used to see Holly twice aday before and after school and Ellie every other day and both every other weekend as Dad shared custody.Have said it before but you live in a beautiful place

  17. I am glad you all were able to find a nice place to take a walk, yes we are quite bummed here because everything is closed to go take a walk but thankfully there are beautiful trees blooming in our neighborhood to enjoy on our walks. It must be wonderful to be a pet right now, they have no clue anything is different :)

  19. Oh, how pretty this is!!! Just discovered your little blog world here. Your fur babies are beautiful. Happy you got out for a walk in nature. Nature always soothes my soul and makes my heart happy. We live in a rural area and surrounded with enough woods, mountains and trails to make a nature lover feel at home! We will be missing our son's birthday this month but the kids do a lot of face timing with us. As long as they start them, hubby and I are clueless. Lucky we are learning how to order our groceries on line now;) Hugs, stay safe and healthy.
