Getting Along in the Neighborhood

Wednesday it rained, Thursday was gorgeous, Friday it rained again.  That's spring for you!

We took the dogs for a long neighborhood walk and stopped a few times to visit on the street, always at a safe distance.  When we turned the corner onto our own street it seemed like the whole block was outside.  Our neighbor on the corner was planting flowers with her daughter, and when we stopped to talk she gave toys to Wally and LuLu, which they've been carrying around ever since.  You can see Wally has one of the toys in this picture.

And here he's keeping an eye on both toys:

Then along came our neighbor friend and his dogs from the end of the street.  The dogs played in the yard while we humans watched from the deck.  Again, we kept our distance.  You can see Bailey, a Goldendoodle, in the foreground of the picture below.

And the next pic is Lynus, another Goldendoodle.  I like how Lynus and his ball are the same color as everything else in the picture -- green, white, brown.

It was a good day.  Still feeling fortunate in our area with few COVID cases and plenty of room to get out and about.  We continue with safe practices and bide our time.  I hope you're all doing okay, too.  Be safe.  It has to return to normal some day, doesn't it?

  1. So good to see you and the kids out and about. We are starting to reopen a little bit with retail stores able to have customers shop online and then have drive-by pick ups. We start on Monday with a mandatory mask order, but then I hear that they are not going to enforce it, so what's the point? I am still at home, but plan to go to the grocery store this coming week.

  3. Oh how wonderful you were able to get out and talk with neighbors ... even if it was from a distance. Just having those few minutes of fellowship warms the soul I think. How awesome that Wally & LuLu got new toys and that color coordinated photo of Lynus is awesome! We are certainly doing all we can to stay safe & healthy here in Ohio too. One day (hopefully) we will be able to get back to some normalcy but I for one will still be keeping my distance ... this virus is a very scary thing!! Hugs and Happy Day to you my friend!

  4. What would we do without the dogs:) We always take ours out for walks and keep distance and chat with our dog walking friends. Wally and Lulu look so happy with their new toys and their buddy.

  5. Love all the pics of the kids, including Bailey and Lynus. How sweet that your neighbor gave Wally and Lulu new to them toys. Everyday on my walk I see a neighbor either outside or driving by. We all greet with a wave or a social distance chat. Has been fun. Stay safe and keep on taking outdoor photos of our beautiful nature and the family:-) Hugs...Nancy

  6. Sounds like Rich, you and the kids had a great day. We have had a lot of rain as well, but today is was nice enough to open the windows until the clouds started to come in and rain is due tonight and most of the week. April showers bring May flowers!! The kids look happy with their toys. I'm sure they loved the outing! Stay safe!!

  7. Sounds like you all enjoyed some company with the neighbors, that was so sweet of the ones to send toys home with them.
We have had a lot of rain here, our ditch out back is up to the top but thankfully didn't come into our yard, hoping for some sun tomorrow!

  8. What a great day you had. So nice that you are still able to get outside and enjoy the outdoors even though it is at a safe distance from others. Numbers are still growing here in Ontario,(although our area is one of the lowest with Covid 19 in Ontario - only 25 known cases, most have recovered). Baily and Lynus are the sweetest. My sister has a Goldendoodle as well, more on the golden colour. We had a beautiful day yesterday, nice to get outdoors and work in the yard, but it's raining today. Be safe, and thanks again for sharing Wally, Lulu and friends. You know how to make me smile!

  12. What a sweet gift and that other fur ball looks so sweet. I bet they have tons of fun playing together. Glad you are able to have a little normal. We just found out today that they extended us until May 31st now. Really frustrating and I get the reasons they say but at the same time I really wonder about their decisions. I am a rule follower so I will do as they say. Just try not to grumble too much while doing it. :-) Anyways... Hope you have a good walk with the fur babies this weekend. Enjoy!
