When we first brought LuLu home, Wally didn’t seem certain that the tiny creature was actually a dog and, though he was kind and gentle, he was also wary and watchful. While she loved him at first sight and bonded immediately, there were times Wally wanted to be left alone, such as when he was settling down for a nap. LuLu always wanted to cuddle. Wally wanted none of that. He would barely tolerate this sort of contact and I’m pretty sure he didn’t realize how close she was when this photo was taken. During their waking hours we were constantly hearing, “Mom, she’s touching me again!”
Look who’s snuggling now.
LuLu doesn’t mind a bit. Have a great day!
what a great post. got to love these dogs!

ReplyDeleteCan I just tell you how much I look forward to your posts, Leslie. How anyone could look @ these pictures & not be overcome with joy and "warm fuzzies". Thank you, thank you. Please give a big kiss to Miss LuLu & Sir Wally from me!
ReplyDeleteAdopting Little Lulu was one of your best decisions. She's enhanced so many lives, least of which is Wally's. What a wonderful life this is. Kudos to you and thank you for the delightful post and photos.
ReplyDeleteAll big brothers take a bit of time to warm up to little sisters, eh? The new little one is a bit of an intruder; takes up a lot of Mum's time; she acts different, always pushng in and gosh, she's a girl. It's a happy part of life that good things are worth waiting for - even little sisters. Hugs to Wally and LuLu.
ReplyDeleteI love your posts about the dogs, Leslie. I so much would love to have an animal but our homes lives done permit it. I get to experience it through your posts.
ReplyDeletethat is so sweet, that's how my cat anna and peanut are now, couldn't stand each other and now they can sleep together no problem, Jip our other cat on the other hand doesn't want anything to do with Peanut :(

ReplyDeleteOMG Leslie.....what a cute before and after photo. Really precious! TFS
ReplyDeleteThis was a precious, precious post. The bond between animal and man is remarkable but... the bond between animals is magical. The photo's of Wally and Lulu reminded me of our daughter's first two English Bull Terriers, Lily and Ghee. They were not siblings and both were recused at age 7 (we think). Not only were they both bonded to our daughter, they were inseparable. Reunions after even a 10 minutes separation was a call for celebration - as if they'd been apart for days *laughing* I've never seen anything like it. Those dogs gave so much love to Aimee. And she in return gave them both the happiest years of their lives. And now there is Penny. The best of both Lily and Ghee. We all adore her. Thank you, Leslie for sharing your life and loves with us.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susie ~
Lovely photos Leslie, this pose is so familiar, my two are always snuggling like this, I think they make great pillows for each other too, lol. LuLu is looking so grown up now, how quickly they change and grow. Both so beautiful. Alexandra xx
