Wally and LuLu are not allowed to roam the neighborhood, but given the chance they will slip next door to see Tori (chocolate Lab) and her people, just as Tori will occasionally pop over to visit us. Polite and friendly sort that he is, he’ll always stand at the door and smile in at them. On this day, Tori’s “dad” grabbed his phone and took a couple of pictures.
I’m not sure how dogs know the appropriate times to smile, but Wally nearly always smiles a greeting when he’s particularly happy to see someone. We didn’t teach him. He won’t smile on command and, in fact, he never gives us this kind of toothy grin. However, I love the ear to ear, tongue hanging, sparkling eyes smile of pure happiness he wears most all the time. You can’t help but smile back.
Are you smiling yet? I hope so. Have a good day!
I think Wally smiled at me when we were there. Sweet pup.
ReplyDeleteOh now that is a site to see smiling up at you..... what great pic he got! It's the things we don't teach them that I love the most... all that natural Love!
ReplyDeleteNot only did Wally make me smile, I laughed out loud! Thanks for making my day!
ReplyDeleteHow can one help but smile at those sweet faces! Yes, I chuckled.
ReplyDeleteThe wonderfulness of a dog always makes me smile. Wally is such a smile-puss, he loves his life!
ReplyDeleteThat is just too darn funny! Dogs are something else I tell ya. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Love that Wally!
ReplyDeleteYes, that made me smile and made my day!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it!! My little pooch will "smile" like that when he thinks he's done something wrong too! It's so funny!
ReplyDeleteYou actually made me laugh out loud! If I lived next door to you, Wally wouldn't get time to "smile"....I'd have my door open & be hugging him before he hit the step! Yes, animals DO have happy faces & express emotion. My cat has the most expressive face I've ever seen. I know exactly what he has been up to by the guilty, sorry, love you, or let's cuddle look he has.Our fur babies are such blessings!
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling alright! He has the most beautiful smile; one cannot help but smile back. They are the smiles that come from deep inside; not just on the face.
ReplyDeleteThat Wally is one adorable pup! His smile has cheered my day!!
ReplyDeleteGotta love Wally. Did not know dogs could smile--how cute is that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Leslie

Adorable!! And if "smiling" means "happy to see you" to Wally, then he learned that from you! Because he sees you smile when you look at him!
