A puppy will steal your heart, but a mature dog you’ve raised from a puppy has full legal and binding ownership of your heart.
I just wanted to take a moment to drop in and say you may not hear from me for a while. I don’t know how long, but I wouldn’t want you to worry. For a while there I thought I might resume regular blogging, but I just don’t seem to be making the time for it. I’ve been allowing myself more relaxing time between being a better homemaker and, of course, I’m a fully dedicated dog mom. As I write this, we’ve just finished dinner and Wally is squeaking a toy as a prelude to a song. He has a lovely tenor voice and LuLu is learning to harmonize in a very sweet soprano. They’ll be expecting me to make a big fuss, telling them how beautiful their singing is. When that’s done, pretty brown eyes will peek at me over the back of the couch until they tug me right on over there to cuddle with them. After all, this is our quiet time.
I’ll be around, still stamping… I sincerely miss the days of my stamping blog and the desire to jump back into it is strong, but I know the time is not right. Frankly, I feel quite conflicted over the whole thing. Perhaps we’ll talk more about that later. Hopefully, I’ll be back with a post of some sort soon, but just in case… don’t worry, be happy, love to all.
Enjoy your hiatus. It's important to do things that makes us happy and spending time with family and pups sounds like a perfect holiday!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have missed your regular blog posts, I totally understand how family must always come first. After all who can resist those sweet slurpy kisses? Enjoy your time and if you have time for a post, we will be here for you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful furry family :)
ReplyDeleteLeslie, you will be missed, but hopefully we see you back her now and again. Always look forward to your posted whether with a card or your babies. Enjoy your time away, and look forward to see you here again when the timing is right. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you for sure, Leslie, but I totally understand! Enjoy your family and I sure hope you'll decide to return. I can't wait to return to stamping, but it really has been kind of nice to not be able to for a while!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. LuLu is all grown up! Glad to hear you are well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pair of charmers! They are so precious. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that you've got your life priorities in order. Enjoy your 2 and 4 legged family; gardening season is around the corner and hopefully a bit of time to create. Life is too short to neglect the most important parts. I have enjoyed reading your blog; delighted in the photos of your goldens, garden, and your fabulous cards. I sincerely hope our paths will cross again. Be well. Be happy. Thanks you for all you've shared with us.
Your fur babies are so beautiful and I can see how you would want to spend time just playing with them. They are after all your "children." I love seeing your blog posts about your beautiful cards, but also those you post about Wally and Lulu. Hope to see more of both in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand, sometimes you just have to go about life differently, of course will miss your beautiful creations, but I wish you peace and great times with your babies :)
ReplyDeleteOh so sad to hear this. I have grown to love your adventures with Wally and LuLu. I am going to miss them and your wonderful creations. I need to be honest here though....I will miss Wally and LuLu the most! The pictures you chose to post of them are incredible, and it is fun watching them grow. I hope from time to time you will put a few pictures of them on your blog. Be well, Leslie! Donna
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
ReplyDeleteMorning Leslie! Girl those puppies are just beautiful and they seem to grow everytime you post their pictures. Lulu has gotten rather fond of the sand I see. hee hee Glad you are njoying the fur babies and your relaxing time. I will be sending a note later about these Azalias (spelling?) that I manage to keep alive through winter. You will be so proud of me. ;0)
ReplyDeleteLeslie,
ReplyDeleteI quite understand how you are feeling as I experience those feelings too...my mutt and sweet cat deserve time from me. Why own animals if you've little intention to spend time with them? They don't understand the word "quality time." Do what makes you and your family happiest and you will be happy too. UGH! Totally a cliche.
All the best, Erica
Wally and Lulu are such beauties, Leslie. And so happy! Your photos are so life-like I feel I can reach out and pet them. Will miss you and your beautiful cards. Thanks for letting us know you are OK. I know you will relish every moment of your "free" time. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh what wonderful photo's of Wally and Lulu. I love that last one. They are very beautiful dogs and so well loved.
ReplyDeletePost whenever you can. It's always a pleasure when you pop by.
Leslie, sweet Leslie. I echo your eloquently written blog post. I'm in the exact same boat. I'm glad to know you are enjoying your pups, your husband and your home. I will keep you on my Google Reader and will sit tight until your next post whenever that may be. Enjoy yourself and take good care.
ReplyDeleteWill miss you and the sweet puppies...be happy in what you do, and do what makes you happy! Thats what is important! I will keep you in my favorits list...just in case you make an appearance now and then! Hugs and Enjoy! :))
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you and the doggies are thoroughly enjoying Rich's retirement :-) You all so deserve your more relaxed family time. I definitely understand, since Denny retired 2 1/2 years before I did.
ReplyDeleteHugs...Nancy
Sometimes you just have to take a break & decide what is really important & family (human AND furry) should ALWAYS come first. Just enjoy it! We will all still be here to welcome you back when the time is right.
ReplyDeleteWe'll miss seeing your posts Leslie, but I completely understand. When you reappear your fans will always be near. Enjoy this time with Rich, the dogs, gardening, and your camera. Capture all the memories you can and just savor them. We are still trying to get settled. After almost 2 months of travel and knee deep in boxes, and working we were so exhausted we both came down with the flu 2 days after Christmas - blah! We're on the mend now (after almost 3 weeks). And I'm working on the sun room as my crafting/music/reading room. Yep, I too will scale back on card making and enjoy some other hobbies. Don't forget to write and let me know how you are. Enjoy this new season.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susie Lessard ~
Just wanted to say how much I loved these pictures of your furry friends! Keep us posted every now and again on how you and yours are doing! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNancy
As much as I love seeing your darling dogs & hearing about their adventures, I sure understand you needing a break to tend to other things. Enjoy your time with them and your husband now that he's home. Happy Thoughts!
ReplyDeleteTake care Leslie. Enjoy your time. I actually feel the same way at the moment, so I completely understand.
ReplyDeleteI wish the best of the future for all of you and special hugs to Wally and LuLu, who so often brought a smile to my face, even when I didn't think it possible.
ReplyDeleteI will miss you, Leslie - please take good care of yourself, and of course, your furkids. We had a golden years ago, and now have a german shepherd. Like you, we thoroughly enjoy the love involved with our loyal furkid. Enjoy your stamping, and bloom in heart. In the meantime, I'll be "seeing" you again when the time is right - ((((hugs))))
ReplyDeleteyour family and goldens are very lucky to have you in their life! I for one admire and respect your choices. Come in and out as you see fit, we'll be here. i love your pictures of the dogs but i also love your skillful hand at making cards. you make the most beautiful cards and frankly, although i want to see more, i'll have a good time flipping back to your old posts and enjoy them all over again! i've been a fan of your blog for a long time and i wish you the best in all of your endeavors.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, may the Lord continue to watch over you and your family. May he direct you on the path He has for you. I pray that you will again blog and keep in touch that way. You are a blessing to me with your card making skills, your blog posts and your pictures of 'the kids'. Be at peace wherever God leads you.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Sue
