Pretty Little Lake

This is a pretty little lake on the edge of the sand dunes where we like to take Wally and LuLu.  Our favorite time to visit is fall and winter when we have the place to ourselves.  There’s a trail all the way around the lake, plus a trail to an upper lake which we frequently visit, as well.  These pictures were taken in January of this year.

Winter can produce a bleak landscape, or it can reveal hidden beauty.  I love this froth of bare snow-white tree branches with the russets and greens and the spruce-aqua color of the water:

Guess who else likes this pretty little lake. . .

We’ve had a lot of good times there – great exercise, good outdoor air, and happy Golden Retrievers.  Thanks for dropping in to share it with us!

  1. Gorgeous pictures Leslie, love the reflections of the trees in the water. It reminds me of the places Bill and I visit on our trips - beautiful. And of course your gorgeous babies - love them, thanks for sharing :).

  3. I'm positively pea green with envy (in a good way . . . so happy for you). These pictures are amazing and would make great screen savers Leslie. My hubby and I would love to have a lake and scene as beautiful as this in our backyard. I think he'd fish all day (that's a good thing . . . . LOL . . . would leave me play time and, oh, would I ever have lots of inspiration with a view of this place as my backdrop. As Francie states above, you do have a corner of paradise here. Hugs!!!

  9. What a lovely area you have to enjoy along with Wally & Lulu. I'm surprised that in January it's so pretty and green there and without snow.
