We're Officially in a Drought

Poor Mr. Froggie's rain gauge has been empty for too long.

We got very little rain over the winter, and it doesn't rain here in the summer, usually, so we've got a long way to go before we can even hope.  I don't like to think what could happen to the garden, but that's a small worry compared to what some folks may experience.  Keeping my chin up and fingers crossed!

  1. OMGoodness..I wish I could send you some rain, we were in a terrible drought last summer, so fair it has rained nonstop for the last 2 weeks!! Very green, but very droopy and dreary! I love the froggie and the beautiful plants though! I will be gone until Monday...we are celebrating our anniversary...for a present we bought a new vacuum...what does that say about us..LOL!

  2. Time to do a rain dance! Love your frog rain gauge Leslie and splash of red geranium. Headed outside to water. Already watering often...Hugs, Nancy

  3. Mr. Froggie is adorable...love his flower umbrella! For no rain, your garden looks astonishing! But then, it always does. Back home in Chicago area, my daughter sent me photos of all the flooding they have. She said it's rained almost every day for a month. That might be an exaggeration but the pictures she sent me sure have a lot of water in them. I'm in Arizona and we won't get much rain till later this month, hopefully. Fingers and toes crossed that Mother Nature plays a trick and sends you some rain. :-)

  4. My daughter is going to lose her entire yard (which they just re-seeded last fall at a huge expense) because they have standing water in their yard due to the flooding rains they are getting in Nebraska. Where I am, our rains have been just perfect & everything is lush & green!

  5. I have been praying for rain for you all out there for some time now. It is crazy how much Texas is getting dumped on now and we have had our fair share too, the rivers are getting full, wish there was an easy way to share it with you all out there, you all will continue to be in my prayers on this

  7. Yep that pretty much describes summer here in our part of the state too. In fact it gets even hotter and drier here. Stay cool my friend.

  8. Hi, Leslie - I hope soon that all the areas needing rain are gifted by Mother Nature. Our rains arrived a tad early this year and the mold, mildew and algae are very problematic, sporing like crazy. It's been very hot this May and June, so the rain is good for us. Praying you receive rain, soon, as well as everyone west of the Rockies!
