Painting Begins

When I came home for lunch on Friday I found Rich on the ladder,  the house undergoing the change from earth tones to bright yellow and white.

And this is what was going on under the ladder.

Faithful Wally and LuLu, staying as close as possible.  We all had lunch on the deck and then it was back to our respective jobs.  It’s going to be a gardening and painting kind of weekend.  I hope I’ll have more progress to show you soon, but painting the eaves is a painstakingly slow process, and all will require two coats.  I’ll pop in again soon.  Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Now that's a daunting task, painting the house! But it must make spirits gladder, having two pretty and faithful pooches sitting nearby. :)

Good luck with all the work you've got lined up this weekend, Leslie!

  2. too cute, did they end up with some white spots on them :)
Wow that would take us forever, I know it is hard for me to work over my head anymore for very long. We did a lot of work out in our yard yesterday and boy I am feeling it this morning.

  4. Now, that does NOT look like fun to me! Good for you two to tackle it yourselves. Can't wait to see it finished. How sweet of Wally and Lulu to keep Rich company. Enjoy your weekend.

  5. I can't wait to see the end results, Leslie. I can only imagine how the new color will look surrounded by your lovely garden. Take a some time out to enjoy Wally and Lulu too. Be careful on the ladders and go forth and paint! Think of it as a large canvas *giggle*

  6. Oh seeing Wally & LuLu showing their love & faithfulness in this priceless picture really touched my heart this morning, Leslie. I'm sure such a labor intensive project might be just a bit easier having this wonderful moral support nearby. Sending good thoughts and well wishes on the house transformation.

  7. I can hardly wait to see the transition, Leslie! Your Goldens are like my husband with Kilo - Kilo never leaves his side, and is with him all the time. It is such a pleasure seeing how devoted they are to each other, and how much enjoyment they give one another. hugs, de

  10. I hope your hubby is a "neat" painter! With the kids under him, he won't want to end up with polka dotted fur babies! At least they can give him moral support, even if they can't man the paint brushes! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

  11. Yes those eves are a pain I agree. Looking like a beautiful day to paint though. Be sure to love on those puppies every now and then. And if they get paint on them it does eventually come out. Just ask Ranger. ha ha

  13. Perfect weather for painting...too hot here! I painted the bottom half of my house last year, this year I have to get a manlift and scaffolding to finish the top half. Not fun! Crazy at it seems, I do enjoy painting! Looking forward to seeing the finished house! I am sure the supervisors will keep Rich on track!

In this case, 'getting there' is not half the fun. Finishing it is, though. Too bad house painting is not as fun as card painting. However, under LuLu and Wally's watchful supervision, this project is sure to be a great success. Enjoy!

  22. What a sweet picture. I can't go anywhere that my 2 dogs don't follow me. But, didn't you tell them it's bad luck to walk or maybe lie under a ladder! Ha! Good luck with all that painting. It's such hard work.
