Share and Share Alike

This is LuLu’s stick.  It’s a big one and she was very proud of her find.  She had to carry it to each of us to show off her treasure, as she always does.  She brings a stick in and parades around with it before taking it back outside, because she knows “no sticks in the house”.  Of course, we always make a big fuss over how wonderful her stick is, and tell her “thank you for showing me your pretty stick”.  She brought this one inside to show me, and she was so cute lugging the big old thing around.

When she left it unattended for a moment Wally decided it was a pretty wonderful stick, too, and tried to claim it as his own.  As the #2 dog she sweetly asked if she could have it back, but Wally had to show that he was the guy in charge.  See his paw grip on the stick and his gentle hold on LuLu’s snout.  Trust me, it was as gentle as a kiss.

Benevolent pack leader that he is, he relinquished an end to LuLu, and a good time was had by all.

  2. I've been playing catch up here this morning. Don't know how I got so far behind. I love seeing what your fur babies are into. Isn't it great how they like to show off when they find that very special prize?

  4. Beautiful insight and lessons. Our animal companions have so much to offer, and all with unconditional love. Wally and Lulu are absolutely beautiful dogs, we shouldn't be surprised. Each photo shows the love, care, and discipline they've received from you and Rich. Thank you, Leslie.

  5. My dog went over the rainbow bridge this spring. I thought of getting another but the truth is I am not able any longer of meeting the needs of a dog. I miss having a dog but your goldens warm my heart with each entry you send. Thank you for sharing your "buddies" with all of us. All that is missing for me is the warm sloppy kisses.

  6. My dear Kyle used to play with large tree branches as well. A little stick would never of been use for him he always had to pick the biggest one around. He's been gone for 2 years now. But i still have Brodie and Kyle who don't play with sticks just everything else they can find and carry even if it's a slipper.

  8. Such pretty, sweet dogs. Our border collie, Jack, likes his tennis balls and Frisbees but if none are readily available, a stick will do. Neat pics.
