Two Cuties and Some Fungi

Now, for some more current pictures...

Wally loves his French fry pillow almost as much as he loves French fries:

Pictured below are some very cool fungi growing in the backyard.  The colors are amazing.  It looks like an autumn scene, but I took this photo on Valentine's Day.  They remind me of thunder eggs.

Oh, and this is pretty cute, too.  Our sweet LuLu with her piggy:

Are you seeing signs of spring yet?  We have bud growth and I'm hearing some of the birds that start showing up in the spring.  It won't be long now!  Have a happy day!

  1. Oh thanks Leslie. I was missing your sweet babies. It's always great to see them because they are always so happy!!! Your fungi are beautiful too. Happy almost spring but in MO some of us are wondering what happened to winter...

  2. Isn't Lulu the cutest with her little piggy toy? Do Lulu and Wally share their toys, or do they each have a few that the other dares not touch? LOL Those lichen are INCREDIBLE! At first, I thought it was polished petrified wood. The fact that they are still living and growing makes them all the more fascinating AND endearing! Thanks for sharing something we would never see here! Our lichen resemble a peeling green paint and grow on the woody bark of trees and bushes. They are small in circumference, but can quickly cover a tree. They peel off like the white bark of birch trees! Does Wally take his pillow outdoors deliberately? Are they forced to bring their toys back in, or do mom and dad do that for them? Our other dogs would clean up their toys when we told them to, but Kilo doesn't care - he leaves there wherever he pleases LOL. Thanks for sharing your fun February day! xo

  4. They are too cute with their toys. That is some cool fungi, we don't get anything like that in our yard, toadstool kind (not sure what they are called ) Greg and I went hiking in a park in Missouri and there were the starting of buds on the trees there, I took a picture and posted it this morning on my blog. The temps are wonderful right now :)

  7. I'm always so happy to see updates of Wally and LuLu. They are gorgeous and such sweet fur babies! We do have signs of Spring here in East Tennessee. No winter yet and I'm a little uneasy about the whole thing. We might get dumped on. I had my lawn over seeded and fertilized and now I'm going to have to mow the grass in February! Come on! That's just not fair!

  8. How did I miss this! I always look for my favorite little fur babies! They are so beautiful and look so happy! It is 75 degrees here right now & still climbing! But they are saying 1-3 inches of snow for Friday! That will be REALLY hard to take after this taste of summer!

  10. I accidentally posted a comment tonight on your December post, so maybe I'll just repeat it here. Aren't Goldens
the BEST? We have an English Cream Retriever who is 7 1/2 & he is laid back & extremely good natured. He is, without a doubt the most fabulous dog we have ever owned. I'd love to send you a picture of him, but don't know
how. I so enjoy seeing the pictures of your lovely fur babies.
