BaZoople Christmas

I finally finished the last of my Christmas cards and, as fun as they are to make, I’ll be looking forward to moving on to other things now.  I tried to keep them all lightweight and not too bulky this year and I can tell you it’s not easy to resist adding that little something extra.  Buttons and bows, flowers, rhinestones, pearls, lots of layers and dimension – I love all those things and they’re part of what’s fun about card making.  I think I’ll not worry about it next year and just figure the extra postage as part of the expense of Christmas.

Today’s card uses an Inky Antics Holiday BaZooples set which I bought last year.  I love the fun of these characters almost as much as I love the fun of coloring them.  This one was watercolored on 90 lb hot press watercolor paper with Stampin’ Up! inks.  The layout, such as it is, was determined by the shape of the designer paper scraps.  I save every tiny piece as though I have a shortage of designer paper.  Perhaps that’s why I have so much designer paper – if I would ever give up any of these trimmings. . .

Enjoy this last week before Christmas.  I’ll be plenty busy, but after this week I’ll be on vacation till after the first of the year.  So looking forward to that!  Thank you for coming to visit!

  1. Wonderful card for Christmas and such a fun image! Great use of scraps, it would be horrible to have to cut into a new piece of DP.

  3. Love your cards Leslie, and isn't it just amazing what we do with scraps. Great to see your 2, and how Lulu has grown. Wishing your husband a wonderful retirement, and it must be great to have him around now. Take care and I wish you and your family a Blessed Christmas with good times, hugs, Ursula

  5. What a cute card! S/he'll make somebody very happy. Funny how we are about scraps, isn't it? In my case, I have a hefty feeling of guilt at all the paper I do go through. So when there is a scrap to save, I do. It seems to dilute the guilt a bit.

Denny and I got our "Leslie" Merry & Bright card today. Wow, a real beauty! Your sewing, pretty DSP, amazing coloring of the pretty ornament and bird are...in Denny's words, "Leslie's coloring is a work of art"! I love how you added the gold cord and sprig.

Merry Christmas to you, Rich, Wally and Lulu.......

I have just finished my Christmas cards, too, and share your sentiment. They are such fun to make and send, but, like you, I'm ready to move on! lol

  14. It's adorable Leslie, and your coloring is fabulous! I used to save all of my scraps...and while I still do save a lot, I have forced myself to throw away almost all of the small ones. I always think I am going to use them, and sometimes I do, but I have so many that I don't even know what I have anymore, lol!

  16. Lovely cute camel image, and your water colouring is super as usual. Great card, and recycling of your scraps!
I have lots of bits stored in a couple of wee boxes and some in a file box organiser too, stored by colour to encourage me to use them. I really should make a New year resolution to create lots of cards to use these up though, I seem to create bits quicker than I can use them up, lol
